Landscape Installation

Where Design Is Carried Through With Care

“

A good installation respects the design and the site equally.”

Landscape Installation in Austin is where a design either comes to life or falls short of its promise. At Landscape Theory Studio, we treat every install as the moment our plans meet real soil, real weather, and the families who will actually live in the space for years to come.

We are a woman-owned studio, and that shapes how we work. Your project gets our direct attention from start to final walkthrough. Whether you are starting from bare ground on a new build or bringing an older, tired yard back to life, our team manages sourcing, planting, grading, and hardscape construction as one connected process, not a series of separate handoffs.

Our Landscape Installation Process

A strong install begins long before anyone touches a shovel. We start with a site walk to assess drainage patterns, soil condition, sun exposure, and any mature trees worth protecting. Austin properties often sit on shallow, alkaline caliche or heavy clay, and both demand different prep work if plants are going to root in and thrive rather than struggle through their first summer.

Beyond that, we correct grading and drainage so water runs away from your home and foundation rather than collecting in random low areas. We amend planting beds with organic compost and adjust the soil mix to match what grows in that area, not just "fill." We plant trees and shrubs with the root flare up and out of the soil, build hardscape, patios, and walkways on properly compacted bases, and install or adjust irrigation to meet current watering guidelines.

Need a complete Austin landscape design installation or focused landscape restoration in Austin, TX, for a yard that has grown around the original plan? We oversee every step of the process in-house so you can expect one point of contact, one schedule, and one team who cares about how your space performs over time, not just how it looks on install day. Most residential projects take two to four weeks. Designs that include hardscapes, lighting, and irrigation could take six to eight weeks, depending on project scope and material availability. We will provide a written timeline before scheduling any work so you aren't surprised when the team shows up.

What Texas Homeowners Are Saying

“

We contacted the Studio after seeing one of their garden designs in the Central Texas Gardener TV show. During the initial site visit, staff made numerous suggestions for hearty, native plants to add variety and to enhance our existing landscape. Within days, plans arrived with proposed plant photos, locations and numbers required. Prior to installation, another site visit allowed for review and alterations to the original plans. Project management and implementation were smooth, timely and efficient strengthened by a professional, hard-working, affable crew producing beautiful results. We highly recommend Landscape Theory Design Studio."

The designer and project managers are always available for questions and problem solving. We now have a beautiful space to enjoy and it has really changed how we use our yard. So glad we found Landscape Theory, we'll continue to work with them for smaller enhancements until we run out of square feet :)”

We love spending time in the space they created for us.”

— Jacqueline, Austin

“

Landscape Theory completed a project on our property last summer! They designed and installed a backyard oasis, complete with native plants and a dry creek bed that runs through our yard, solving a drainage issue that had previously turned our backyard into a mud pit! They also come by seasonally for maintenance of our landscape! They are great!”
