Echo Shore Cove
West Oak Hill

In Austin’s West Oak Hill neighborhood, this project tackles significant drainage challenges while transforming the landscape into a functional and inviting space. As the lowest house on a two-block area, the property required a solution to manage stormwater flowing from uphill neighbors.
The backyard was tiered to slow and channel water in a controlled way, with new planting beds serving as both a natural screen and a sponge to absorb stormwater. A decomposed granite bocce ball court, bordered by limestone blocks, adds a touch of recreation and elegance to the design.
A cedar deck, inset within the home’s architectural alcove, features a raised planter bench for added greenery and charm, seamlessly blending structure with nature.
