Perched in Austin's Westlake Highlands, this project pairs contemporary architecture with Palm Springs-inspired plantings to create a clean, sculptural landscape. Structural yuccas and a desert plant palette stand up to Austin's summer heat and winter freezes, while low-voltage lighting adds depth and drama after dark. Steel stair risers with stone treads guide visitors to the guest quarters, and a custom planter cleverly conceals drainage solutions along the way.
